January 2005
The New Year starts off with genital herpes and difficulty sleeping (3-4 hours per night). That means that my afternoon nap frequency increases. Ironically, my energy is better as a general rule and the fungus on my trunk is diminishing. As in December, I continue testing allergic to booze. And I visit the energetic technologist, the first of three consultations during this six months period.

February 2005
Visiting the technology assessment consultant, the Nutri-Energetics Systems is utilized. It reports that my kidneys and skin have issues that need to be addressed. Subsequently, I test to take a variety of Sanums and remedies to help my adrenal glands

March 2005
My energy level is fluctuating, and I am pleased with the progress my right shoulder is making. It has been roughly three years since my surgery, and it feels so much better and can function rather well. (I’ll never throw a ball or swim any stroke other than the breast stroke, but it surely is worth the tradeoff.) I take various Sanums and other remedies to help address endocrine and fungal issues.

April 2005
This month the testing results have me increasingly dealing with deep tissue detoxification with Heel remedies and significant endocrine issues with Sanum and Heel remedies. My sleep patterns and energy level have improved. I visit the energetic technologist for the third time this year hoping to enhance my progress, particularly my immune system.

May 2005
On the 8th , I was mowing the lawn. When I pushed the lawnmower up an incline I heard a popping sound in my left shoulder. Almost immediately thereafter I felt a sharp pain going down my left arm. For the next two weeks, it will be a painful, dangling modifier. My orthopedist who advised me on my right shoulder three years ago ordered an MRI and referred me to a surgeon. The MRI confirmed a significant tear, which the surgeon would confirm as “massive” after he performed the surgical repair. Unfortunately, however, the surgeon could not perform the repair for two weeks, due to scheduling problems.

I visit the energetic technologist in hopes that he can help mitigate some of my problems.

I consulted with a naturopath to determine if there were various remedies I might take to help me in the interim. Oxycodone and I became well acquainted, so well acquainted that after surgery it didn’t diminish the pain.

While the post surgical pain of my right shoulder was the most intense pain I had experienced since childhood, the left shoulder pain was significantly worse: so much so that I could only sleep two hours at a time sitting up because it hurt too much to lie down. The oxycodone not only didn’t work it made me weirder than I normally am. So I stopped taking it. The Operative Report (LINK) gives a good perspective on the technical aspects of the surgery.

Not to let another opportunity to test fate go for too long, I visited my dermatologist to examine a mole that had been growing on my left cheek for the past few years. The Pathology Report (LINK) came back positive for malignant melanoma. The dermatologist stated that I needed to have surgery to remove it as soon as possible in addition to the subsequent cosmetic surgery to address the hole that was going to be created in my left cheek.

June 2005
Because of my decision not to have sentinel node biopsy (LINK) as part of the procedures I was to undertake, the MOH’s and repair surgeries were postponed three times not only without my knowledge but without my approval. Needless to say, my wife and I were most upset about this. I finally had the MOH’s surgery, unfortunately without the site being scrubbed, and it became infected. The cosmetic surgery, without the sentinel node biopsy, went well. Other than the risk of the cancer spreading while waiting for the MOH’s procedure, I was more immediately concerned about how my left shoulder would stand up during these new challenges. The Computerized Tomography, second pathology, and operative reports (LINKS) indicate that the surgery was successful in spite of the bumps in the road along the way.

I visited a naturopath for advice and started taking a variety of remedies to address all of the challenges my body was facing. In that I had saved all of the equipment I had used for physical therapy of my right shoulder, I started therapy on my left. I hoped I would not have to go to a physical therapist. My surgeon agreed as long as I continued to make progress.

After all of this, I visit the energetic technologist in part to validate his concern of roughly one and one-half years ago about the growth on my left cheek. Once again, I hope that what he does will help me recover more quickly than I otherwise would.
